Parish and Community Events

Beginning on October 7th, our parish will be participating in the Baby Bottle Project which benefits The Women’s Centers of Greater Chicagoland. This non-profit organization directly assists mothers and families experiencing crisis pregnancies by offering emotional, financial, material and spiritual support through counseling, clothing and monetary provisions, prayer and other aid. Each year the three locations together have over 5,000 appointments with expecting mothers. By God’s grace, The Women’s Centers have saved almost 40,000 babies, and their mothers, from abortion since opening in 1984. Please take a Baby Bottle home with you on October 7th, fill it with your spare…

Because of the care and concern of our staff, volunteers and benefactors, each year approximately 1,000 women who feel abortion is their only choice, decide in favor of life. We provide practical help, including counseling, clothing, baby furniture, referral services, etc as needed. We have a Jeep Cherokee for sale for $3200. It has 142,000 miles. Yes, I will be running the Chicago Marathon again this October 7, 2018. Just as last year, I will be running the marathon to help raise funds for our outreach ministry, aka “Holy Hands.” Last year, I managed to raise almost $4,000. Help me to do it again so that SMM can continue to assist those in the Rogers Park area who might be in danger of homelessness and/or hunger. Donations can be made on line using the following link https://www.givecentral.org/location/113/16181 or mail a check, payable to St. Margaret Mary. All donations are tax deductible. Thanks!!! Fr. Tirso

A few of you may remember the planters along the veranda that Ray Schmid built for the parish. I had the pleasure of planting those not only in the summer, but also with mums in the fall. Next, the…
