First Friday Silent Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

Pope John Paul II stated, “The Church and the world have a great need of Eucharistic worship. Jesus waits for us in the sacrament of love. Let us be generous with our time in going to meet Him in adoration and in contemplation that is full of faith.”

Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, "Sit here, while I go over there and pray."...Then he said to them, "My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me."... And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping; and he said to Peter, "So, could you not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak" (Matthew 26:36-41).

Beginning on Friday, May 7, and every first Friday of the month thereafter, Holy Child Jesus Parish will have Silent Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in church after the 8:00 a.m. Mass until 6:45 p.m. The last time slot each day will be at 6:00 p.m. We invite you to sign-up between these hours if you want to have a Holy Hour with Jesus. Mass will follow at 7:00 p.m.

There is a sign-up sheet at the back of the church for those who are interested. You may also sign up online through SignUp Genius. Please remember that the Blessed Sacrament cannot be left alone under any circumstances. If you cannot fulfill your schedule, please contact the person in-charge so they can find a substitute for you. The middle doors off the church parking lot will be open. Please follow CDC guidelines by sanitizing your hands (sanitizer will be provided) and wearing a mask. Please use the attendance sheet at the door to sign in. When you leave, please wipe down your pew with hand wipes that will also be at the door and sign out on the attendance. We appreciate your cooperation.

The greatest treasure of our faith is that Jesus Christ is present in Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity under the appearance of the consecrated host in the Holy Eucharist. When we adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, Jesus draws us to Himself and gently transforms us.

We are blessed and graced to adore Him, to be grateful, to ask for forgiveness, to say our supplication, and to intercede for others.
